Hi,

Has anyone bought this game yet? It's well worth the money, and it'll keep you playing for hours and hours. There's a total of 25 levels, with more coming.
In my oppinion, this is one of the best accessible games out there to date. If you haven't please pick it up. I'll be happy to answer any questions anyone may have about playing. You can reply to this board, or Email me at staindaddict@juno.com
Game summery:
You can choose between several different races of characters including goblins, ogres, humans, elves, and the list gos on. Then you pick a job from the many jobs that are available.
You walk through the dungion, fighting different creatures, buying and selling weapons/armor, picking up quests to carry out for money and special items, and much much more.
Please give this game a shot. It's only $39.99, and as I said before it's well worth it.
You can download it from the link below:

Glad to know you're having a good time with it. I hope Jason gets the Bizarre fixed soon, that sounds so awesome.

Post 5 by blindndangerous (the blind and dangerous one) on Monday, 12-Apr-2010 17:52:04

Looks like he did. 1.021 is out.

Post 6 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Friday, 16-Apr-2010 17:44:20

Actually there aren't going to be anymore floors added to the dungeon. But Jason is apparently working on a Dungeon Creator expansion, which from the sounds of things basically just means you create your own version of Entombed with your own races, jobs, items, weapons, monsters, bosses and yes, dungeons. Then you can apparently share them with other players and rate the best ones. But that phase is still in very early stages apparently.

Hello,
An the new thing that the hmm, what was that town's name has is,a bazar where say,if you found a legendary sword of strenth and your party is of mages you can sell it in that bazar so that others can buy it,as you don't have use for it.

Post 8 by blindndangerous (the blind and dangerous one) on Saturday, 17-Apr-2010 13:42:37

Its not bazar . Its blizarre.
1.02I was just released this morning. Fixes some more bugs.

You're welcome. Me, I haven't played Entombed for a while, although I do have the full version. Truth to tell there are a lot of things I don't like about the gameplay mechanics. I don't like that it doesn't use a traditional hit point system and also that Mages have been relegated basically to support crew since their combat spells generally aren't worth bothering with. Only the Necromancer's Ice Blast and the Druid's Lightning bear mentioning, and you have to be careful with Lightning since it has a chance of reanimating an already defeated enemy as a Zombie. No, the game I play most is an online RPG I've been playing now for almost six years, that being Sryth. THe story is excellent, it's accessible and you have much more of an idea of what your character is capable of as far as I'm concerned. And yet it still does require a fair amount of strategy.

Post 13 by Alexander vongrippen (Veteran Zoner) on Tuesday, 20-Apr-2010 6:48:36

Agreed about sryth there.I played it for a long time, but due to me not good at finding my way in the maps,I quitted, all though all the players helped me in finding my way in the dungens.Well entombed does have a hit points system, but say if you get hit a lot in your head, you will die,no matter how strong you are.So its ok.

Post 14 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Tuesday, 20-Apr-2010 18:44:15

That's exactly what I don't like. And you don't even have to take much damage to the head or the torso for your character to die. ANd as far as I'm concerned healing in battle isn't worth it. And contrary to what a lot of people on the Entombed list say I do believe the game is fairly heavily biased towards certain races and jobs. I'm surprised I never tore my hair out trying to kill that damn Drake. If it's that hard I'd hate to encounter a fully grown dragon.

Post 15 by SunshineAndRain (I'm happily married, a mom of two and a fulltime college student.) on Monday, 24-May-2010 23:51:48

I love the game's audio effects and music. The storyline is confusing, to say the least but I like the different races and jobs that you can choose from. I also like that you can use JAWS to listen to the speech parts instead of SAPI. I also think it's cool how different charactors that you've had in the past come to life. Crazy... Lol.
Here are my grievances:
1. You basically just sit there while the characters fight and once in awhile you hit FIGHT or MAGIC or whatever. I personally feel that with that kind of combat, I have no control and I don't like that. And I agree that certain races, jobs and combos give different results, especially the necromancer job. Not worth $40 at this point. It's a good game, don't get me wrong, but NO game is worth $40, I don't care how good it is. Oh yeah! And I wanted to point out that the interface is a bit confusing if you don't know }eat you're doing. For example, it'll say, "Is this the correct name for your character?" and it'll have an edit box and you kinda have to guess what's there. Also there are times it skips important bits of information such is when buying/selling objects in the store and also when you go in to battle, if you're moving when the creatures come to fight you, all of a sudden you're fighting and there's not much warning or any info about what just happened.

Post 16 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Monday, 31-May-2010 2:12:47

Yeah the music is excellent. No denying that. Especially if you take long enough during the final battle and see her change into her ultimate form. But some of the sound effects are actually quite corny, like the swords and impact sounds. It sounds like someone's just getting slapped.

By the way, has anyone ever come up against some sort of crazy thing with their name? I just had that happen. I was using my own name... and there was a beep when I was walking and all of a sudden I was fighting something with my name. By the way, I (this is my first time) have about sixteen bucklers, but only two decent ones. Also seven tunics and thirteen loincloths/leggings.

Post 18 by DevilishAnthony (Just go on and agree with me. You know you want to.) on Sunday, 27-Feb-2011 20:57:10

Yes, your old characters come back from the grave to fight you. Have you ever used that character and gotten it killed before?

Post 19 by synthesizer101 (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 28-Feb-2011 0:10:59

No, this was my first time. But I just did manage to kill first my pet (which I named the same as my cat:), then me, then a dwarf died about thirty seconds after I rescued a different dwarf. Then that one died too. By the way, how does the Necromancer bring back things?

Post 20 by DevilishAnthony (Just go on and agree with me. You know you want to.) on Monday, 28-Feb-2011 14:30:34

Summon bones, I think. I'm pretty new to the game as well.

Post 21 by starfly (99956) on Monday, 28-Feb-2011 15:45:20

I love this game but once I get to the 5th or 6th floor the game locks up on me.

Post 23 by burak (Zone BBS Addict) on Friday, 11-Mar-2011 6:08:33

I think entombed is not good. For example it's saying 32 damage but taking 64 helth. Reall'l'l'l'ly bad game! Nasty!
:(

Post 24 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Saturday, 12-Mar-2011 12:45:40

I've never seen that.

Post 25 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Saturday, 12-Mar-2011 12:48:06

I'll agree that there are things about Entombed that I do't like but I'd hardly call it a bad game, in fact far from it.

Post 26 by synthesizer101 (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 31-Mar-2011 13:09:44

What actually is a drake? I keep dying when I get there. By the way, have you ever come across the basalt guardian? That was really hard to beat, but gave me less experience than those two wolves that show up every time I play.

Post 27 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Thursday, 31-Mar-2011 14:19:23

What they call a drake is a young dragon. Wouldn't it be awesome if they made an iOS game out of Entombed?

Post 28 by preiman790 (Generic Zoner) on Friday, 01-Apr-2011 16:30:16

i have a question about healing spells specifically when i cast them they don't seam to actually do anything but when the computer casts them it actually heals stuff is there something i need to be doing or something

Post 29 by burak (Zone BBS Addict) on Friday, 01-Apr-2011 18:15:06

Hi,
You must Increes your heal level. I think basolt gardian is easy. But drake? Really hard!

Post 30 by preiman790 (Generic Zoner) on Friday, 01-Apr-2011 20:59:47

my heal is at level 4 i figure i should at that point be getting something more then x feels slightly better

Post 31 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Saturday, 02-Apr-2011 15:42:40

It sounds like you're attempting to heal the entire body. That's one thing I don't like about Entombed. In order to really see the effect of the Heal spell you have to target specific body parts. Numbers 1 and 3 are the left and right legs and hands respectively, 4 and 6 are the arms and hands, 5 is the torso and I believe 8 is the head.

Post 32 by Marissapc2010 (Zone BBS is my Life) on Saturday, 02-Apr-2011 16:27:42

but how do you do that. do you hit the number as soon as you cast heel or. what? I've never gotten how to do that?

Post 33 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Saturday, 02-Apr-2011 21:47:03

Once you highlight the character you want to heal, hold down the number for the relevant body part. Then press Enter.

Post 34 by preiman790 (Generic Zoner) on Monday, 04-Apr-2011 12:35:33

can i do that for attacks to because that would be great

Post 35 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Tuesday, 05-Apr-2011 17:37:57

Yes, but only certain spells are actually targetable, the Necromancer's Ice Blast comes to mind. Physical attacks are targetable of course but even then there's no guarantee you'll score a hit or that it'll land where you want it to.

Post 36 by synthesizer101 (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 10-Apr-2011 15:27:31

What about harm? I have that at level five and it's pretty useful, assuming of course it's not pointed at a drake, in which case almost nothing useful happens. Every time that three out of four people in my group are dead and the last one is critically injured, I load my game. Usually, the drake isn't even injured at all yet.

Post 37 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Monday, 11-Apr-2011 12:02:51

That's where you use Curse scrolls if you have any. Sometimes the Dake resists but when it doesn't that's a very useful spell since it pretty much guarantees that any attack you score will domaxmum damage while the cursed party will inflict minimum or at least minor damage. Even the Drake is susceptible to that last.

Post 38 by synthesizer101 (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 11-Apr-2011 22:05:05

I'll try that since I think I have like twenty scrolls. And guess how many healing potions I have? Eighteen of them! They really come in handy when level three heal does nothing. I've just got to get my ice blast off level one. and the only enemy I can find is that dumb drake. But I only need 252 experience to get to level seven....

Post 39 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Tuesday, 12-Apr-2011 13:32:32

Well the Drake will award you more than that by a long shot.

Post 40 by synthesizer101 (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 14-Apr-2011 13:12:20

If I kill it before it kills me, that is.

Post 41 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Saturday, 16-Apr-2011 16:55:25

That's true. I personally refus to save my game after killing the Drake if I win the battle with anything less than my full party.

Post 42 by The Smile (Newborn Zoner) on Monday, 18-Apr-2011 8:20:14

Thanks so much for the post about how to target specific body parts. I could never figure out how to do that either. That will make quite a few attacks a lot more effective. And I love the post about the impact sounds hahahaha so true. They really do sound like a slap. Never thought about it before. Otherwise, I think the game is epic.

Post 43 by DevilishAnthony (Just go on and agree with me. You know you want to.) on Monday, 18-Apr-2011 8:29:30

I've tried targeting, but I can't tell that it makes a difference. after I select the opponent I want to fight, right before I press enter, I press the number corresponding to what part of the body I want to hit. Am I doing something wrong?

Post 44 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Monday, 18-Apr-2011 19:27:32

Press and hold the number, with the number down press enter and release both.

Post 45 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Tuesday, 19-Apr-2011 0:43:57

Of course there's still no guarantee that it'll work right. But if it does and you can do enough damage to your opponent's head or neck you can win fairly quickly.

Post 46 by keyWasFull (Zone BBS Addict) on Saturday, 23-Apr-2011 13:10:46

Harm is also not targetable. You can target ice blast, banish undead, fire bolt, and normal attacks. Not abilities, unfortunately, but hitting the head on a targeted sneak attack is quite satisfying.

Post 47 by mat the musician (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Saturday, 23-Apr-2011 16:42:29

I liked the game, but I kind of have the same opinions as Bryan. The game is very high quality but when it is played for a long period of time, it gets kind of tedius. Who is "she"? Do you mean the drake? Where did Jason get the music for this game? I thought it was from soundsnap, I looked there but found nothing that sounded like the game. Some of the sfx are decent but other as Bryan said are corny.

Post 48 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Saturday, 23-Apr-2011 20:42:34

It's not sure what gender the Drake is although you could conceivably find out by hitting X. And I would expect it to be random. But the final boss is female or was when she was living. And if you draw that battle out long enough for her to reveal her true form the music is absolutely epic. I just wish the sound effects for her true form's attacks were as high of quality as the music. But I definitely love the music of the final floor of the dungeon.
